BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

Paul & Lela are getting married on October 4, 2024

Over the past six and a half years together, we've been all over—road-tripping across state lines, hiking through state parks, and even jetting over oceans to see loved ones and check out new spots. So, to celebrate our wedding, we figured why not bring the party back home to where it all began—Brooklyn.

This website is your go-to for planning your trip to the best borough in the Big Apple. We've got hotel info, our favorite local spots, and a schedule of events lined up—just keep scrolling for more info. If you can't find what you need, we're here to help. We hope to see you in October!

WEDDING VENUE

Brooklyn Grange at Sunset Park

Brooklyn Grange is the leading rooftop farming and intensive green roofing business in the United States, fostering more livable and climate-adapted cities. With its Sunset Park and Navy Yard locations, Brooklyn Grange's farming spans nearly 5 acres and produces over 80,000 lbs of organically grown vegetables annually. We’re so excited to share this special and often unseen slice of the city with you.

To get to the venue (850 Third Avenue), we recommend the following methods:

  • Subway: Board the R train from DeKalb (or any R train stop) and get off at 25th Street. Brooklyn Grange is a brief 12-minute stroll from the station.

  • Lyft, Uber, or Taxi: Rideshare can conveniently drop you off directly outside the venue. Please specify the Brooklyn Grange Sunset Park location, as they have another rooftop farm in Navy Yard on Flushing Avenue.

Although Brooklyn Grange has parking facilities, we strongly advise considering alternative transportation options for your convenience and safety. We will provide shuttles back to the hotel block area at 10 p.m. The shuttle will stop along the way for those who want to continue the festivities; the location is TBD.

Suggested Accommodations

We recognize that many people have specific preferences for New York neighborhoods and hotels. While all the weekend festivities will take place in South Brooklyn, we encourage you to stay wherever you feel most comfortable.

Discounted rates have been secured at the hotels below near Downtown Brooklyn, a central area easily accessible to Manhattan and just a 20-minute Lyft or Uber ride away from the venue. These hotels are also conveniently situated close to the R train, providing easy access to the 25th Street station, which is only a 12-minute walk from the venue. Kindly note that rooms are limited, so we recommend booking no later than August 20th to secure your reservation.

HOTEL BLOCKS

The below links will take you directly to our booking pages:

  • The Ace Hotel ($$$), a design-forward option with great on-site amenities

  • The Nu Hotel ($$), a simple option close to our neighborhood guide recommendations

  • The Tillary ($$), a classic option in a noisier neighborhood yet close to Manhattan

Although there aren't room blocks reserved for Marriott, Hilton, Sonder, and Airbnb (limited), they are also excellent choices for staying nearby.
